Honduras repeals ‘secrets law’ in fight against corruption

TEGUCIGALPA, March 2 (Reuters) – Honduran lawmakers have repealed laws that critics dubbed the “formal techniques regulation” for classifying public paperwork on countrywide security and protection, marking one of the initial endeavours below a new leftist administration to curb corruption.

President Xiomara Castro, who took office in January, had designed campaign vows to repeal the regulation together with many others that she said prevent govt officials from currently being investigated and prosecuted for graft.
