One Book, One San Diego Announces 2020 Selections

The law library is so enthusiastic to be a person of the 80 spot libraries, service corporations, and academic institutions participating in the 2020 One Reserve, One San Diego method. Though this is our initially year, it is the 14th year of One Reserve, One San Diego, the region’s premier literacy method. And, 2020’s One Reserve, One San Diego reason is to use studying and dialogue of literature as a way to bring our local community nearer with each other.

 

One Reserve, One San Diego been given above four hundred nominations and selected the following books for the 2020 location-wide reads:

 

They Known as us the Enemy,” the graphic novel by George Takei, Justin Eisinger, Steven Scott, and artist Harmony Becker was selected for the Grownup, Younger Grownup, and Spanish-language Reader categories.  In this beautifully illustrated graphic novel, actor, activist, writer, and California-indigenous George Takei revisits his childhood ordeals of getting despatched to a concentration camp as a person of the 120,000 Japanese-Us citizens imprisoned by the U.S. federal government throughout Planet War II.  Takei examines what it implies to be an American as he shares how his mothers and fathers made use of hope, adore, and compassion to enable their spouse and children by means of issues.

 

“Write to Me: Letters from Japanese American Youngsters to the Librarian They Remaining Behind” is the variety for baby audience.
