Did you know that genealogy is the second most popular hobby in America today? Have you wondered if you have Native American ancestry in your family?

This free class will discuss the process and resources available for researching Native American ancestry. Speaker Mica Llerandi is an attorney for California Indian Legal Services and a member of the Navajo Nation. Her presentation will include:

• a brief history of Indian Relocations,
• a summary of the federal recognition as applied to tribes,
• a summary of the key terms and phrases,
• how to begin the process of researching ancestry,
• the resources for researching ancestry, and
• how Indian adoptees can file a petition to unseal birth records.
