About the Party
This method will deliver a basic overview of California and Federal course motion legislation. It will include the factors needed to qualify as a course motion beneath California legislation and beneath Federal Rule of Civil Method 23. The method will also briefly contact on discover, dismissal, and settlement issues exceptional to course actions in each Condition and Federal courtroom. The method will conclude with a transient dialogue of the important dissimilarities amongst California and Federal course actions.
About the Speaker
Meghan Ashley Wharton is a Senior Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of San Diego working towards in the Civil Litigation Division, Ms. Wharton’s practice focuses on community legislation disputes such as municipal finance issues and election legislation. Her practice consists of litigating complicated instances in a broad range of parts, such as writ proceedings, validation actions, and course actions. Ms. Wharton is at present defending the Town in three course motion instances involving Proposition 218 worries to Town actions. Prior to becoming a member of the Town, Ms. Wharton practiced at legislation corporations in San Diego, Silicon Valley, and Phoenix, Arizona exactly where she specialised in commercial and mental assets litigation. She acquired her J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Regulation Middle in 2001 and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
