This webinar will discuss the modifications in method at the U.S. District Court docket, Southern District of California due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has improved each prison and civil federal practice in San Diego.  Leaders of the Federal Bar Affiliation, San Diego Chapter, will discuss the modifications in methods for the U.S. District Court docket, Southern District of California from the practitioner’s issue of look at.

This session will address:

  • Latest prison and civil methods and methods
  • Technological adaptions
  • Resumption of jury trials and in-particular person hearings

 

About the Speakers

 

David Finn has served as the President of the Federal Bar Affiliation, San Diego Chapter given that January 2020.  He is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Prison Division, in which he has experimented with dozens of federal prison jury trials and argued circumstances in the Ninth Circuit Court docket of Appeals. In  2014, he was awarded the Office of Justice’s Director’s Award for Outstanding Functionality.  In 2015, he received the nationwide Federal Bar Association’s Young Law firm Award. He is a frequent teacher at the Office of Justice’s Nationwide Advocacy Heart in which he teaches demo advocacy.  He is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and California Western Faculty of Law.

 

Rebecca Church is the President-Elect of the Federal Bar Affiliation, San Diego Chapter. She has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Business office for the Southern District of California given that 2015. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Business office, Rebecca was an Affiliate Attorney at Duane Morris LLP, in which she practiced in the commercial and employment teams. She served as a Judicial Law Clerk for two federal judges and is a Law firm Agent to the U.S. District Court docket for the Southern District of California.
