OAK Lawn, Illinois – The Oak Garden Board of Trustees stated in a statement on Saturday that they “commend our officers’ final decision to use a lot less than deadly pressure” when arresting a teen who allegedly experienced a gun.
Video of the incident has gone viral, demonstrating Oak Garden police consistently punching Hadi Abuatelah, 17. His household suggests he experienced a damaged nose, bruising through his system and bleeding close to his brain.
Dashcam movie was launched Thursday by Oak Lawn police.
Saturday’s statement from the Oak Garden Board of Trustees reads:
The Oak Garden Board of Trustees strongly supports the customers of our Law enforcement Division and are dedicated to preserving the lives and livelihoods of all who reside, do enterprise in, and go to Oak Garden. We commend our officers’ conclusion to use a lot less-than-lethal force to detain the armed offender.
This recent incident is nonetheless another tragic illustration of what is happening in our society when it will come to regulation and purchase and community security, and comes only months soon after a further younger male with a gun killed 10 men and women at Highland Park’s 4th-of-July parade.
The Oak Garden Police Office and our overall Administration will fully cooperate with the ISP investigation and accommodate any of their demands and requests, and we will have no even more reviews about the issue right up until their investigation is finish.
But as a culture the larger-picture dilemma demands to develop into the main component of the discussion, and that is regard for regulation enforcement and compliance with their lawful orders are the only means we are heading to put an stop to these types of incidents.
