Welcome Judge Rachel Cano to the Board of Trustees

We are happy to announce the Honorable Rachel Cano as the latest Regulation Library trustee. Judge Cano replaces the Honorable Joseph Brannigan.

 

Judge Cano was appointed to the Top-quality Court docket by Governor Jerry Brown in December 2016. Currently, she presides in excess of a division of the relatives court in the Central Division of the San Diego Top-quality Court docket.

 

Prior to currently being appointed to the court, Judge Cano was a prosecutor in the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. There, she handled a range of assignments, which includes currently being the level individual for the Human Trafficking legislation released in 2006, prosecuting sexual assault circumstances, and acting as the Main of the South Bay Branch Office.

 

Judge Cano is incredibly included in the San Diego local community. She has served as the Secretary, Vice-President, and a member of the President’s Advisory Board for Lawyers Club of San Diego. In 2010, she was appointed to the San Diego County Fee on the Standing of Females & Women, wherever she served as Commissioner and then Chairperson. And, she co-established the non-gain group San Diego Pros From Cancer (SDPAC), which raises cash for most cancers investigation, affected individual treatment method, and expert services by fundraising situations, this kind of as the San Diego Competition of Beer. And, in her spare time, she is included in a range of mentoring plans, which includes a 10-7 days empowerment training course for elementary faculty pupils.

 

Judge Cano started her services in April 2020, and joins:
